Our Inaugral Ball

On Saturday 29th November 08 at The Hilton, Farlington we held our first ball. The ball 'kicked off' with a lighthearted game of knives, forks and spoons. After this was finished we sat down to the meal. Then it was down to serious stuff, Pam Westbrook made a short but heartfelt speech and then a short presentation was shown to remind us all why were there. Next up was the money raising bit, aka the auction. Some of the items included signed Girls Aloud merchandise, O2 tickets to see Madness, tickets to the Brit Awards in February, signed football shirts and games consoles. The Phoney Beatles played a storming set and had everybody up on the dancefloor as did the DJ once the live music had finished.

A big thankyou to Steve and his assistant from Sugarbowl Photography and Kathy from Kathy Lewis Designs for the amazing balloon decorations (both can be contacted through our links page). A great time was had by all and a lot of money was raised...way beyond our expectations so a big thankyou to those that attended and/or contributed to this worthy cause.

This page will be updated when the final figures of the amount raised on the night become known. At the moment a best guess is in excess of £8000. Some photos from the evening can be viewed here. Again these will be added to as and when photos are submitted.
