Around the World in a Day !

After weeks of preparation Sunday 26th June arrived. The Hilton Hotels Around the world in a Day was finally here. Staff members had been training for the event and set to work on the rowing machine and exercise bike. The goal - to travel the world in a day.

All Hiltons throughout the UK were taking part with their fundrasing foundation and all participants checked in at 9am in the morning and would sign out at 4pm with their pedometers totals.

But this wasnt to be enough, Jennifer and Tina were the key co-ordinators and wanted to make it a real family affair. Bouncy castles, icecreams, bar-b-q, fire brigade, tombola stalls, hook a duck, treasure hunt, football shoot outs, name the teddy, guess how many sweets in the jar and much more.

It was a fabulously hot sunny day. Not only were there stalls galore, but in the main events arena, dancers from many clubs schools and societies performed fantastic dances from around the world for all the guests to watch.

Sponsorship is still rolling in but at the end of the day with a rough count up - a staggering £1500 had already been raised.

A huge thank you to the Hilton and all involved in making the day such a great success and of course to everyone who attended.
